Rather, He calls us to see things from His perspective, that it is always "Today," and therefore as long as we have breath, there is always time to hear and obey. We must not dwell upon the past (Philippians 3:13-14), nor depend upon the future to come (James 4:13-14), but simply hear and live accordingly "today."
while it is said, "Today if you will hear his voice, don't harden your hearts, as in the rebellion."{Psalm 95:7-8} (Hebrews 3:15)
So also Christ didn't glorify himself to be made a high priest, but it was he who said to him, "You are my Son. Today I have become your father."{Psalm 2:7} (Hebrews 5:5)
