[Healing & Wholeness]:
Physical Healing is Salvation

Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4, 5)

The Lord Jesus Christ died with your sins that you might live without them. This is salvation, deliverance from the penalty of sin. In Greek, this word is translated from the root, σωτηριαν. The English verb form of salvation is save. This is from the Greek root, σωσο. God shows us through the accounts of His Son on earth that He also considers physical healing to be "salvation," just as forgiveness of sins is.

As Jesus began to travel to the daughter's house, a woman came to Him quickly. She had been suffering for a long time. She had put her hope, and money into the hands of the doctors, and they had only given back to her a multiplication of her disease. Now, having no other hope, she put her trust in this Man, Jesus.

24He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides. 25A certain woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years, 26and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse, 27having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes. 28For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well." 29Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. 30Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?" 31His disciples said to him, "You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'" 32He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease." (Mark 5:24-34)

This woman was seeking healing from her hemorrhages. She needed delivered from this physical disease, for doctors only made her worse and cost her all of her money. She sought the complete salvation of this Holy One, Christ. Here, Greek words meaning healed/cured, saved and made whole are used interchangeably. It is because all three of them were made provision for by the Blood of Christ poured from His broken Body, which would be the final payment for all sickness!

Let's now return to the story of the daughter needing healing. Her father had come to Jesus asking for him to save, or deliver her. However, it appears that Jesus had waited too long, while He was healing yet another.

While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue's house came, saying to him, "Your daughter is dead. Don't trouble the Teacher." But Jesus hearing it, answered him, "Don't be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed." (Luke 8:49, 50)

(Mark 8:41, 42)

The girl's father had received what he asked Jesus to do. He said his daughter need to be saved, in this case from a sickness unto death. And Jesus obliged without reservation!

Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "Rhabboni,{Rhabboni is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for "great teacher."} that I may see again." Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. (Mark 10:51, 52)

12As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were lepers met him, who stood at a distance. 13They lifted up their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" 14When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." It happened that as they went, they were cleansed. 15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice. 16He fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan. 17Jesus answered, "Weren't the ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18Were there none found who returned to give glory to God, except this stranger?" 19Then he said to him, "Get up, and go your way. Your faith has healed you." (Luke 17:12-19)

The Father in heaven has made supply for the havoc that sin has caused in this world, sickness. He has made the shed blood of His Son the payment for this debt of sin, physical sickness (Isaiah 53:5). Nothing can stand against it, becaust sickness can only legally stand where sin has not been atoned for. Therefore, because Jesus Christ is Lord, and because His blood and broken Body have become the substitute for us suffering for the sin of ourselves and the world, we may step out of sickness and into the healing and health of the Son of Yahweh.

The Good Message

As you read this site, you will hopefully come to know Yahweh more fully.

But all of this continuing knowledge is useless unless and until you come into union with Him. I use the word union because it is truly a marriage. It is that deep connection we all seek, for which we most often look in other people. However, the truth is that our hearts will only be fulfilled when we enter that union in fullness with the One Who made us.

This is the grace of God, that He has not stayed distant for us only to worship as Creator. But He has come unto us, even become one of us—in His Son, Christ Jesus—in order to share an intimate union with us. He desires such closeness that it truly will envelope our entire life, transforming us into something new and wonderful.

You may have already entered this union with Him and only seek to know Him better through reading here. But if you have not, as you do read, let this Gospel sink into your heart as you read it now.

God loves you, and has cast your sins into the sea. He has sent His only Son as the Savior of the world—that includes you.

That Son, Jesus Christ, was born as a man through a virgin who had given her life to Yahweh; He lived without sin, reflected the glory of His Father, God, in all His words and deeds, and was persecuted even unto death because of it.

His death upon a cross was the powerful explosion that separated you from your life of death. It remains for you, now, to enter into that death with Him. As you die to the one you are now, a person separated from God from your many sins, you will be born anew, with a nature predisposed to live rightly. This gift is free to you, with nothing you can do to earn it. It is the mercy of God to offer it to you, as He loves you so much! All you must do is receive it by trusting Him to have delivered you. Simply place your life in His hands and embrace the freedom that came through that death on the cross.

The Gospel is that Jesus did not remain dead, but rose again on the third day after His crucifixion! Death could not hold Him, as He was without sin. And so death will not be able to hold you, as you identify with Him fully through your trust in Him. Let go of yourself and confess Him as Lord of your life. The power of His death and resurrection will work in you all that your Creator has destined for you. You will truly enter a new life and experience that intimate union you have been seeking all of your life.

So ponder these words as you read here of this great God—Yahweh—and all that He has revealed to His creation. Let His Spirit testify to your heart that these words are true, that God is Love, and that He sent His Son so that you might receive the life that is unbound by time and space. As you feel that witness in your heart, simply believe and receive what He is offering to you, even now, and begin your new life as a child of God.

Please write to me and let me know when you take this step, as I will be your brother in Christ—we will be one in Him!
