Is America in the Bible? Bible Study & Prayer for the USA

The United States is not named in the Bible. Scripture was finished many centuries before the nation existed. Some readers look for America in Bible prophecy, but no verse names it. What the Bible does give is a clear word for every nation: "Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh" (Psalm 33:12), and "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people" (Proverbs 14:34).

It also tells believers how to pray: "that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1–2). That prayer covers leaders of every party and every level of government. Jesus said, "the Son of Man came to save that which was lost" (Matthew 18:11), and His invitation is open to every person in every state.

How to pray for the USA: Pray for its people. Ask Yahweh to give its leaders humility, honesty and wisdom. Pray for hearts to turn back to Him, for divisions to be healed and for the hurting to be comforted. Pray that believers and congregations walk in love and truth, and that the name of Jesus (Yeshua) is honored across the land.

Two prophetic dreams on this site speak of a future conflict between China and the USA: China attacks the USA and World War IV (China & the USA). We should always pray for peace and believe for peace, since Yahweh can intervene at any time, in any way He chooses.

Most often we don't know what to pray in a given situation, much less for something as large and complicated as a whole nation and all its people. Scripture says it plainly: "we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us" (Romans 8:26). Praying in tongues lets the Holy Spirit perfectly pray Yahweh's will through us for the United States and its peoples. Learn more in Prayer in the Spirit.
