Is Kuwait in the Bible? Bible Study & Prayer for Kuwait

Kuwait is not named in the Bible. It is a small country at the northern end of the Persian (Arabian) Gulf, and Scripture does speak of peoples of Arabia. Isaiah calls on the desert itself to worship: "Let the wilderness and its cities raise their voices, with the villages that Kedar inhabits" (Isaiah 42:11). Kedar was an Arabian people, and Yahweh's praise is meant to be heard even there.

Many people living in Kuwait today come from other countries, working far from their families. Hagar, alone in the wilderness, said to Yahweh, "You are a God who sees" (Genesis 16:13), and He sees every person in Kuwait too, citizen or guest.

How to pray for Kuwait: Pray for its people, citizens and workers from many lands alike. Ask Yahweh to give its leaders wisdom, justice and peace (1 Timothy 2:1–2). Pray for protection and fair treatment for those who work far from home, and for comfort for the lonely. Pray that believers are strengthened and kept in peace, and that many come to know Jesus (Yeshua), whose name means "Yahweh saves."

Most often we don't know what to pray in a given situation, much less for something as large and complicated as a whole nation and all its people. Scripture says it plainly: "we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us" (Romans 8:26). Praying in tongues lets the Holy Spirit perfectly pray Yahweh's will through us for Kuwait and its peoples. Learn more in Prayer in the Spirit.
