Is China in the Bible? Bible Study & Prayer for China

China is not named in the Bible. Some readers connect the "land of Sinim" (Isaiah 49:12) with a distant eastern land, but that link is debated, and Scripture itself does not say that Sinim is China. What the Bible does make plain is that Yahweh's good news is for every people: "Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples" (Psalm 96:3). Jesus sent His disciples to "make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19), and that includes one of the oldest and most populous nations on earth.

Yahweh knows and loves every person in China, in its great cities and its quiet villages alike. "Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). Wherever someone calls on Him, in any language, He hears.

How to pray for China: Pray for its people, across its many regions, peoples and languages. Ask Yahweh to give its leaders wisdom, restraint and a heart for justice and peace (1 Timothy 2:1–2). Pray for families and the elderly, and for the hurting to be comforted. Pray that believers and churches are strengthened and kept faithful, and that many come to know Jesus (Yeshua), whose name means "Yahweh saves."

Two prophetic dreams on this site speak of a future conflict between China and the USA: China attacks the USA and World War IV (China & the USA). We should always pray for peace and believe for peace, since Yahweh can intervene at any time, in any way He chooses.

Most often we don't know what to pray in a given situation, much less for something as large and complicated as a whole nation and all its people. Scripture says it plainly: "we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us" (Romans 8:26). Praying in tongues lets the Holy Spirit perfectly pray Yahweh's will through us for China and its peoples. Learn more in Prayer in the Spirit.
